Inspired from an old block called “Diamond Knot”, this newest pieced Celtic Knot pattern from Peg, Endless Ribbons©, offers many design and quilt top options. This pieced Celtic knot is fun to make and incredibly easy!

Two motifs will be offered in the workshop – the Triple Endless Ribbons© knot uses three accent fabrics plus a background fabric, and the Quintuple Endless Ribbons© uses five accent fabrics plus a background fabric. 2. Civil War Soldier Quilts Instructor: Julie Bragg Skill Level: G, R
Civil War Soldier Quilt
Size: 54”x 84”
Pattern also includes a four-patch, 34”x 38” wall hanging.
During the Civil War the women made quilts for their men who were going off to war. Some were sent to the American Sanitary Commission to be stamped before they were issued to the soldiers. Most of these quilts were made from scraps and clothing. Today we have available 1800’s reproduction materials to reproduce quilts of that era like this nine-patch signature quilt.

Each pattern is $7.00 plus http://www.spiritof76quilts.com

3. Studio Time / My Circle of Friends

Instructor: Cindy Casciato Skill Level: All

By popular request the classroom will be open all day Friday. You may choose to come down on Thursday night or arrive early Friday morning to set up your class equipment. The formal teaching may not begin until Friday afternoon; however you can work on your own projects until that time.
Come and join us for a sit and sew class that allows you to set the pace. You can choose to make the class project quilt “Circle of Friends” or, finish some projects that you already have underway or do both. The atmosphere will be open and friendly and all input is welcome. Everyone will benefit from the questions, answers and discussions. Hot Topic: Organizing your sewing space to make more time for quilting. Bring your best tips to share with the class. Photos of your sewing room would be appreciated to create a scrapbook of ideas to share. Bring one sewing notion that you think is the Cat’s Meow.

More about the Class Project: “Circle of Friends”. Bring your fat quarters and your scraps to make this wonderful circle quilt based on a very old pattern that I have improved to construct it quick and easy. We will start with 9” squares, sew circles and end up with squares again. Each completed circle contains backing and batting and is a complete unit by itself. We join the circles together to make a finished quilt. The purpose of this quilt is to collect your friend’s signatures in the overlapping sections of the quilt. You can also do this project as a planned quilt with just two fabrics. The signature concept is of course optional. Pattern: $5.00

You will go home with finished quilt. Please feel free to contact me at: cindy@quiltescape.com if you have any questions.

6. Lavendar and Lollipops: Linda Luggen Skill Level: All

When I look at this quilt, it makes me think of lavender. When my granddaughter saw it, she said lollipops. So it is. This is a fun quilt to make incorporating some unique unit appliqués, dimensional flowers, gentle curved scallops and easy “lollipop” flowers. The class teaches appliqué to beginners, helps to perfect the stitch of the more experienced and hopefully gives insight into a few new ways to look at appliqué designs. This large violet vase of flowers allows for more freedom as the flowers and leaves seem to float. The techniques can be taught in a day. More days would be beneficial to begin different units. Easy.

Pattern fee $10. Linda Luggen @ linda@quiltescape.com
