Class #8: Maddie Bea's Rhombus Quilt
This makes a 62" x 78" Quilt. Maddie Bea is designed from an antique quilt that may look just like another simple four patch, but if you look very close and study the quilt you will discover that the blocks are actually a rhombus.
This quilt is a favorite of mine, after watching the demo three times at NQA , the designer had created a set of templates that takes strips and not only makes accurate quilt squares but also turns the strips into setting triangles, both top and bottom (which are different from each other).
Maddie Bea's is not only a beautiful reproduction quilt, but she also yields a surprise using all of her scraps! Look closely at the picture and you will see the mini quilt that matches. Fun, fun, fun! I promise you that if you think Maddie Bea's appears very intricate I will teach you how using the template set will make it a dream to construct.
Great quilt for using your scrapes both light and dark, and also for making any size quilt!
